Princess Eugenie (and her sister Beatrice) are known for their very daring sense of style and bold looks, and on October 12 the world will be eagerly awaiting to see what the royal bride will wear at her wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
The 28-year-old royal is due to wed Jack at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, and while the occasion will be a grand event – many royal fans will be holding out to see how Eugenie’s look compares to that of other royal brides, including Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
The designer
Princess Eugenie may keep to royal tradition and put a British designer’s work on show.
Eugenie recently told British Vogue, ‘I’m not telling anyone who is making it, but I can say it is a British-based designer.
‘[The dress] is the one thing that I was really decisive about. As soon as we announced the wedding, I knew the designer, and the look, straight away. I never thought I’d be the one who knew exactly what I like, but I’ve been pretty on top of it.’
Eugenie has always been an advocate for British brands, and adored designer Erdem for her engagement photos.
Similarly, Meghan wore a dress by British designer Claire Waight Keller at her wedding to Prince Harry, and Kate wore British Designer Sarah Burton.
Sleeves
Both Kate and Meghan decided on a ceremony gown that featured long sleeves, showing modesty that can still be fashion-forward.
The second dress
For both Meghan and Kate’s royal weddings, both brides chose to change dresses for their evening receptions. Meghan transformed from a regal, classical bride into a more contemporary and modern dress by designer Stella McCartney.
Kate chose to change into a silk dress with matching feather cardigan.
It’s unknown if Eugenie will follow in their footsteps, but it’s very likely!
The tiara
Royal women are not permitted to wear tiara’s until their wedding day, and Eugenie will most certainly make her tiara debut!
Fashion expert, Anna Mewes, predicts that Eugenie will wear her mother’s tiara.
‘She will almost certainly wear a tiara and I think it would be a lovely touch if she opted for the same one her mother wore for her wedding to the Duke of York,’ she said.
Queen Elizabeth loaned Kate the Cartier Halo tiara on her wedding day, and Meghan also wore tiara straight from the Queen’s jewelry vault, the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau.
